Y’know, nothing brings the generations together like anime conventions and the promise of a free Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass® guitar. That’s what we always say, anyway.
Just look at this smiling youngster—Zachary by name, school kid by trade. Ol’ Zach is one very happy junior dude because at the recent Sakura-Con 2009 anime convention in Seattle, he was the lucky winner of a sleek Olympic White Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass® autographed by the members of Portland, Ore., electroclash heroes the Slants and customized by the group’s bassist, Simon Young.
The Slants played two shows at the April 10-12 event at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. They presented Zach with the bass at the second concert. More than 20,000 people attended the convention, now in its 11th year, and several thousand signed up for the bass giveaway, sponsored by the band, Sakura-Con and Squier.
